- The
integration of computer aided design methods together with optimization
techniques is becoming prevalent in all aspects of industry and
research. Engineering design is enhanced by increasing the efficiency
of the simulate problems and innovative optimization methods. After
the success of JOPTI 2005 ( Journée sur les strategies
d'optimisation ) workshop that was held in Besançon (France)
19 th May 2005 , we have remarked that there exist a gaps between
researchers in the universities and industrial needs especially
concerning the use of the optimization strategies. Then the Association
for Simulation and Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (ASMDO)
was founded to promote further activities in this field. An executive
committee was created by al least half of the members coming from
industries. The aims of ASMDO are then:
1. To identify and
create international collaborations between persons, organizations or
institutions that have among their activities, at least one related to
Simulation, Modelling or Optimization.
2. To provide a
framework for the organization of study seminars, forums, conferences,
workshops and congress either national or international to communicate
recent advances and to demonstrate how developed techniques can be
applied in engineering practice.
3. To encourage
practical applications of optimization methods and the corresponding
software development in all branches of technology and to foster the
interchange of ideas amongst various fields contributing to structural
optimization.
In the framework of
simulation and multidisciplinary optimization there are many subjects
concerned:
- Parameter Identification, Computational
Methods, Optimization Techniques, Simulation of Multi-Physics
Problems, Optimal Design, Shape and Topology Optimization, Multiobjective
Optimization, Finite Element Method, Software, Benchmarks, Large
Scale Problems, Evolutionary Strategies, Simulated Annealing,
Artificial Neural Networks, Structural Analysis, Operations Research,
Dynamic Response, Heat Transfer, Tribology, Sensitivity Analysis,
CFD, Noise&Vibration, Composites Modelling, Biomechanics, Control of
Structures, Clustering,….etc
And following domains are
concerned with the industrial applications:
- Aeronautics and Space
Technology, Vehicle Design and Transport, Industrial Forming
Processes, Geomechanics and Environmental Engineering, Naval
Architecture, Engineering Structures, Commercial Software, Software
Reliability, Communications, Biomechanic , Economics, …..etc.
